Kerala Parippu Curry

Parippu Curry -  Kerala style moong dal curry with the goodness of coconut and spices. 

Dry roast moong dal till it loses its raw smell

Wash the roasted moong dal and pressure cook for 3 to 4 whistles

Make a masala paste using coconut, green chillies, cumin seeds, garlic and onion

Transfer cooked dal to a pan / clay pot

Add the masala paste

Cook on low heat for few minutes. Add salt as per taste

For the tempering, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, dry red chilly, curry leaves and chopped onion

Pour the tempering into the Parippu Curry

Serve Parippu Curry with steamed rice
