Tel Poli

Tel Poli is a variant of puranpoli made with generous amount of oil

In a mixing bowl, add refined flour, , oil, turmeric powder and mix well

Add water and knead to a smooth dough. Keep aside for 2 hours

For stuffing, soak chana dal for 2 hours

Pressure cook chana dal for  3 to 4 whistles

Mash cooked chana  dal

Cook mashed dal and jaggery on low flame  till it starts leaving sides of the pan and become  dry

This is how the stuffing should look

Divide the stuffing mixture into medium sized balls

Take a dough ball and stuff the puran inside it and bring the edges together and seal it

Place a butter paper on rolling board . Place the stuffed dough ball on it  and flatten it using your fingers

Roll into a thin poli

Heat a pan and cook on both sides  till golden brown spots appear on the poli
