Shevgyachya Shenganchi Aamti

Shevgyachya Shenganchi Aamti – a Maharashtrian style dal made using drumsticks.

Wash and soak dal for 2 hours

Pressure cook dal for 3 to 4 whistles

Wash, peel and chop drumsticks

Heat a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida and saute for few seconds. 

Add chopped tomato and saute on low heat. 

Add chopped drumsticks, turmeric powder and water. Allow it to cook

Add cooked dal, salt, spices and cook covered for few minutes

Serve the Aamti with steamed rice
