Prawns Koliwada
Fresh prawns marinated with spices, coated with besan,cornflour and fried until golden and crisp.

Ingredients
350 grams prawns
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tbsp Kashmiri red chilly powder
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp lemon juice
salt to taste
For outer coating
½ cup gram flour (besan)
¼ cup cornflour
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tsp chaat masala
salt to taste
Instructions
Wash and devein the prawns.
In a mixing bowl, add deveined prawns, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste , lemon juice and salt. Mix well.
Cover and keep aside for 20 to 30 minutes.
In a mixing bowl,add besan, cornflour, ginger-garlic paste, carom seeds, red chilli powder, chaat masala and salt. Mix well using a spoon.
Add this mixture to the marinated prawns.
Coat the prawns well with this mixture.
Sprinkle few drops of water if required and mix well.
Heat oil for frying.
Drop marinated prawns one by one into hot oil.
Fry on low heat for 5 to 6 minutes.
Remove fried prawns usinga slotted spoon onto an absorbent paper.
Serve hot with green mint chutney or as a side dish with your meals.
Notes
For the coating, rice flour can also be used instead of corn flour.
