Phulka

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wholewheat flour
  • salt to taste
  • water
  • 1 tsp oil

Instructions

  • In a plate or a large mixing bowl, add 2 wholewheat flour.
  • Add salt. Add water gradually and start kneading.
  • Knead well for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Add 1 tsp oil and knead till the dough becomes super soft.
  • Cover and rest the dough for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, knead the dough again for 2 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into small balls.
  • On the rolling board, sprinkle some flour and place one dough ball.
  • Roll the dough ball evenly to make circular discs.
  • Place it on a hot griddle.
  • Once the phulka cooks a bit and bubbles start forming on the surface,flip it and cook for few seconds.
  • Now, using a kitchen tong place the phulka on direct flame where it will puff up like a balloon.
  • Apply ghee on the phulka.
  • Likewise make rest of the phulkas, apply ghee on the surface of the phulka.
  • Serve hot with sabzi or curry of your choice.
