Amla Mirchi Thecha
a spicy, tangy Maharashtrian chutney made withamla, green chillies, garlic, and peanuts, pounded to a coarse, flavorful blend.

- 1 amlas (Indian gooseberries)
- 9 to 10 green chillies
- 2 tbsp peanuts
- 11 to 12 cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 cups of fresh coriander leaves
- salt to taste
Wash and chop amlas.
Wash green chillies and chop off its stem. Peel garlic, keep peanuts and cumin seeds sready.
Heat a pan and add oil.
Add peanuts and saute on low heat till it turns crunchy.
Next, add chopped amlas and saute for 7 to 10 minutes on low heat.
Add garlic, green chillies and saute for 5 to 7 minutes on low heat.
Add cumin seeds and saute for few seconds.
Allowthe roasted ingredients to cool down.
Transfer the roasted ingredients to a mortar. Add fresh coriander leaves and salt. Pound them coarsely using the pestle.
Transfer the thecha to a serving bowl.
Serve Amla Mirchi Thecha with bhakri, roti or as a side dish with your meals.
