Wash the French beans, remove the strings, and chop them diagonally.
Steam the beans until just tender. Set aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add curry leaves and chopped garlic. Sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.
Add chopped onions and sauté until soft and translucent.
Add the chopped tomato and cook until it turns soft and mushy.
Add the steamed French beans to the pan. Mix well.
Add turmeric powder, salt,and the Mangalorean curry powder. Stir to coat the beans evenly.
Add the freshly grated coconut. Mix everything well, cover, and cook on a low flame for2–3 minutes.
Serve hot with rice or rotis.
