Start by plucking drumstick leaves and collect them in a bowl.
Rinse the leaves thoroughly with water. Chop the leaves and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds, udad dal, asafoetida,curry leaves, chopped green chillies, dry red chillies, chopped garlic and chopped onion. Saute for few seconds.
Add chopped drumstick leaves and saute.
Add turmeric powder and mix. Add 2 tbsp water. Cover and cook on low heat for 12 to 15 minutes.
Once cooked, add salt as per taste. Add freshly grate dcoconut and mix.
Cover and cook for few seconds.
Serve hot with chapatis or with rice and dal/sambhar.
