Sprouted Ragi Set Dosa

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of sprouted ragi
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 cup of udad dal
  • 1 tsp of methi seeds
  • salt to taste
  • Oil /ghee for cooking dosas

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add rice, udad dal and methi seeds. Add water and rinse few times. Drain the water.
  • Add fresh water and let the rice and udad dal soak for 6 to 7 hours.
  • After 7 hours, transfer soaked rice and udad dal to a mixer jar alongwith sprouted ragi.
  • Add little water and blend to a fine paste.
  • Transfer the batter to a vessel/bowl. Add salt and mix well. Set the batter aside to ferment for 10 to 12 hours.
  • Once the batter is fermented, it is ready to use.
  • This batter  can be used to make both idlis and dosas.
  • For idlis, you can use the batter as it is. For dosas, you'll need to thin it down by adding some water.
  • Take a small portion of the batter in a bowl, add water, and mix well.  
  • Pour ladleful of batter onto a hot dosa pan,cover, and cook on low heat.
  • You can drizzle some ghee around the dosa for added flavor.
  • Sprouted Ragi set dosa is ready to be served.
