Wash and soak rice for 15 to 20 minutes. Drain the water and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add shahjeera, cardamom, bay leaves,cloves and cinnamon.
Next add chopped onion and chopped green chillies. Saute for a minute or so.
Add ginger garlic paste and chopped tomatoes, mixing everything well, and cook on low heat for a few seconds allowing the flavours to blend.
Once the tomatoes soften, add chopped coriander leaves, chopped min tleaves, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder and garam masala Mix well.
Add salt as per taste.Add soaked rice and mix. Now add water.
Close the pressure cooker and cook for 3 whistles.
Open the cooker after the steam escapes completely.
Serve tomato pulao with raita, papad and pickle.
