Ugadi Pachadi

Ingredients

  • 1 lemon sized ball of tamarind
  • 3 to 4 tbsp jaggery powder
  • 4 to 5 black pepper
  • ¼  tsp salt
  • 3 sprigs of neem flowers
  • ¼ cup chopped raw mango

Instructions

  • Soak the tamarind in ⅓ cup of water for 30 minutes.
  • After soaking, squeeze out the pulp and strain it.
  • Pluck the neem flowers and set them aside.
  • Coarsely crush the black pepper along with salt and keep aside.
  • In an earthen pot, mix the tamarind pulp with jaggery powder until the jaggery dissolves completely.
  • Add the crushed black pepper, salt, chopped raw mango,and neem flowers. Mix well.
  • Pour in 1 ½ cups of chilled water and stir to combine.
  • Ugadi Pachadi is ready to be offered as prasad.
