Sprouted Jowar Pulao is a nutritious and flavourful dish that combines sprouted jowar with vegetables and spices. Jowar, a gluten-free grain rich in nutrients, becomes easy to digest when sprouted. List of ingredients to make Sprouted Jowar Pulao
Jowar
Veggies : Onion, tomato ,Carrot and green peas
Spices : ginger garlic and green chilly paste, cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, cumin coriander powder and garam masaland chopped coriander leaves.
Other ingredients : oil and salt
Step-wise recipe with instructions
Wash and soak jowar for 10 to 12 hours.
After 12 hrs, drain the water . Place the jowar in a strainer. Keep it on a small bowl. Cover it and keep aside for 12 hours to sprout.
Transfer the sprouted jowar to a pressure cooker. Add 2 cups of water, salt and cook for 8 to 10 whistles.
Keep cooked jowar aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf and cloves. Saute for few seconds.
Add ginger garlic chilly chilly paste and saute.
Add chopped onion and saute.
Add chopped tomato and saute.
Add chopped carrot and fresh peas. Add ¼ cup water and cover the pan. Cook on low heat till the veggies turn tender.
Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, cumin coriander powder and garam masala. Mix well.
Add cooked jowar and mix well. Add salt if required. Cover and cook for 2 minutes.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve Jowar Pulao with raita.

- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 3 to 4 cloves
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic green chilly paste
- 1 medium sized onion, chopped
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 1 carrot, chopped
- ½ cup fresh peas
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilly powder
- ½ tsp cumin corainader powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- salt as per taste
- 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
Instructions
