Tiranga Sandwich

Celebrating the spirit of democracy, on this Republic Day, lets bring the vibrant colours of our national flag into a sandwich.  I have used mint-coriander chutney and grated paneer  for the green layer, carrot and hung curd mixture for the orange layer and cucumber and hung curd mixture for the white layer. Try making this healthy and attractive Tricolour sandwich to get yourself in to a patriotic mood.

Ingredients

8 Bread slices

For Saffron layer
¼  cup grated orange carrots
1 tbsp hung curd
1 tsp black pepper powder
½ tsp red chilly powder
Salt as per taste

For white layer
¼  cup hung curd
1 tbsp grated cucumber
1 tsp black pepper powder
Salt as per taste

For green layer
4 tbsp mint-coriander  chutney
1 tbsp grated paneer

Method

For Saffron layer
In a mixing bowl, combine together grated carrots, hung curd, black pepper powder, red chilly powder and salt . Mix well and keep it aside.

For white layer
In a mixing bowl, combine hung curd, grated cucumber, black pepper powder and salt. Mix well and set it aside.

For green layer
In a mixing bowl, mix the mint-coriander chutney and grated paneer and keep it aside.

How to proceed

  • Take four  slices of bread and cut the brown edges.
  • Apply the mint-coriander chutney on the first slice.
  • Place another bread slice over it.
  • Spread the white hung curd mixture on this bread slice.
  • Place another bread slice on this and spread the carrot mixture evenly on it. 
  • Cover with the final bread slice.
  • Gently cut into two and serve. Repeat the same with the remaining bread slices.
  • Tricolour Sandwich is ready to be served.
