What is Sattu?

It’s widely consumed in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand in various forms like sattu paratha, laddoos, or energy drinks. Rich in protein, fiber, and essential nutrients, sattu is light on the stomach yet extremely filling and energizing.

Step-wise recipe with pictures
Blend roasted Chana into fine powder. This is Sattu. Store in an air-tight jar and use as required.

Into a mixer jar, add coriander leaves, green chilly, ginger, mint leaves, sattu and curds. Blend until smooth.

Transfer this to a mixing bowl. Add 2 cups of water, salt and roasted cumin powder. Mix well.

Add ice cubes and serve chilled, garnished with roasted cumin powder.

- 1 green chilly
- a small piece of ginger
- 1/3 cup coriander leaves
- 2 tbsp Sattu
- few mint leaves
- 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
- salt
Instructions
