Mint Chutney

Mint Chutney is an easy chutney made with mint and coriander leaves.

Chutneys are an integral part of Indian cuisine. Chutneys elevate the taste of snacks or chaats that they are paired with. One such chutney which is a  must with snacks, sandwiches, chaats and many more Indian snacks, is the green chutney. Pakodas, bhajiyas, sandwiches will not taste as good without the mint chutney. Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients

2 cups  Fresh coriander (hara dhaniya)                  
2 cups Fresh mint leaves (pudina)
2 Green chillies (hari mirch)

2 cloves garlic (lehsun)
1 inch ginger (adrak)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)

A small piece tamarind (imli)
1 tbsp lemon juice (nimbu ka ras)
Salt as per taste (namak)

Mint Chutney

Method

  • Wash coriander leaves, mint leaves and chillies.
  • Grind together coriander leaves, mint leaves, chillies, garlic, ginger, cumin seeds, tamarind, lime juice and salt to a fine paste.
  • Mint chutney is ready to be served.
