Mango pineapple sasam

Mango Pineapple Sasam also known as Ambe Avnas Sasam is a traditional summer delicacy from Konkani cuisine.

Mango Pineapple Sasam or Ambe Avnas Sasam (Ambe = mangoes, Avnas = Pineapple) is a delicious side  dish where ripe mangoes, pineapple and grapes are tossed in a coconut-mustard-chilli paste and served cold.

In the Konkan belt of Maharashtra and in southern India, ripe mangoes, pineapple, jackfruit are used to make savoury dishes. Some of the savoury dishes using these fruits are Ambe Upkari, Ripe Mango Curry, Ansa Phansachi Bhaji, Pineapple Menaskai etc. Ambe Avnas Sasam is an important part of the meal at GSB weddings during summer.
